Paint stick Christmas star

Each year I try to do a craft with my sister …some thing that’s fairly easy but yet that we can take away a special memory. this year, we came up with these paint stick stars and used snippets of things that we had in our stash to finish them out.

We started by painting, each paint stick white on both sides, and wrapped the ends with twine and glued them down. We used random greenery pics and filled in the center like we each liked it, and then I chose a twine bow with a little snippet of color in the red and black checked ribbon.

We added hooks on the back with wire, and they are a nice size decoration for a door. We also made smaller ones out of large/jumbo tongue depressors, and they turned out very cute for tree ornaments.

For this CAS card, I chose the image from Patty G, colored with pencils. I started with a white card stock and lightly went over it with my yellow ink for the background. I sometimes struggle with CAS because I think there’s not enough on the card but I like the way this one turned out.

Paper shelter raining

For this card, I used an image from paper shelter. I layered it on a light blue embossed with clouds paper, Fussy cut the image and sentiment, then used a bit of glitter glue for the raindrops.

Coffee

Everyone loves a good cup of coffee!! 

This is a very simple card. The cardstock was already embossed kind of shines with the coffee cups on it, added the matching sentiment on a white paper layered on coral textured paper.

I made this a retirement card and the sentiment inside is on cream paper layered on a light brown. The soft colors drew my eye to this for the retirement card.

Gold and purple embossed floral

 

White cardstock, purple strip with white cardstock. I embossed a floral pattern using purple and gold embossing powder. Added a skinny strip and 3 purple enamel dots. I like this springy color combo.

This spring floral explosion in blue and purple is on kraft paper.

Cut a square of light blue textured paper and layered on a fancy stitched diecut around the sentiment. I used purple ink around the image before I placed it. I added a 3D purple and blue butterfly.  I love this flower color combo and butterfly just adds to it.

Lots of layers. Red cardstock, pink cardstock, polka dot cardstock folded in half layered on. Added a glitter Heart on the inside and the sentiment popped up with foam tape.
