Proud of You

I have several Graduations this week...what a better way to say you are proud of someone than by a quote from Dr. Seuss!
I started with cream cardstock and layered embossed black cardstock with graduation hats. Then found a scrap of figured paper to put they saying on. Popped it off the card just a bit with foam. I outlined the graduate hats with a gold gel pen to make it a little sparkly.

torqouise challenge

I saw a card similar to this, so decided to give it a whirl. I changed it up quite a bit to fit my own style. I stared with white cardstock and layered a teal tree that I had embossed with my cuddle bug used a scrap to punch what I stamped on and matched the string. Added the butterflies with a little foam for a 3d effect,  but wanted to keep it very simple. I tacked it down with a foam sticky piece.

Pinwheel anything goes

I thought this was a fitting card to the beginning of summer, I have seen so many pinwheels in the stores this week! Makes me think of my grandkids running through the yard with them. I started with white cardstock. Layered a piece is red paper, layered another layer of white paper. Then created the pinwheel, added a button for the center. I used the scrap of red I had left over to make the sick and found some red striped string to finish it off. Then stamped happy biy, but could be used for a thinking of you as well.

Bows 2

This is a card I made today for my Dad for Fathers Day. I started with white cardstock and then used my cuddbug to emboss a design down the right side. I had the letters, but embellished them with gold studs. I used cream colored string and a white button, pulling the string thru the button and tying a bow in the center to finish it off. I love making bows and think that they are most time just the finishing touch that cards need.

Christmas

I LOVE you Christmas!  This is a card I created with a new stamp that I recently purchased. We live near Denison, Iowa where the famous Donna Reed grew up. One of her most popular movies was It's A Wonderful Life. So this card has a special meaning as well as the greeting. I also love glitter....messy as it can be, it makes cards "pop". I started with white cardstock and used my cuddle bug to emboss a snowflake background in light Aqua Blue. I used my scallop and circle punches, an evergreen stamp with embossing ink and ultra fin Prisma glitter. I will definitely be making more of these!

Bows

I chose to make this card for my friends birthday, as I had not tried anything similar to this before. It turned out good, was fairly simple once I got the right angle on the fold and I will definitely make it again. I started with a creamy textured cardstock, layered paper with some of her favorite colors, added some sickers that I had and a little bling. The hardest part was punching the holes for the bow as the cardstock was double and thicker than I usually use....but got it figured out, used a slim peach ribbon to created the finishing bow and used a little beacons glue to tack the corner of the fold and the ribbon for added security. I really like putting dainty bows on my cards. Not always easy to work with my big fingers, but in my opinion, they make the cards.

Birthday card child

This is a card I made for my 2 year old grandson who loves dalmation puppies. His dad is a firefighter...
I started with white cardstock, layered a black background. I drew the puppy body free handed till the pattern fit on the card. I used my circuit machine to cut the 2, a circle punch and sticky red letters to personalize it. The Google eyes were the finishing touch! I'm sure he is going to love it!!!

Children's card

I made this card for my granddaughter's 2nd birthday. She is in love with giraffes, so it was obvious that is what her card had to be. I had a lot of fun making this card. Got out a lot of my tools and machines that I had not used in awhile. Used the cuddle bug to make the Swiss dot background and the circuit machine for the number 2. The rest was a free hand adventure until I felt it was right. I used google eyes and colored sticky letters to personalize it...she loved it!!!

May flower 2

For this challenge I chose the color coral to make my card. I started with white card stock, wrapped a piece of cream string around coral textured paper and layered it on top. I then stamped my flower image on a white scrap, used my Tombow markers and a gold glitter gel pen to finish off the flower. It looked a little flat even after putting a little foam and laying it on the card, so ran my black ink pad around the edge an a couple of swipes across the top. Added the pearls to finish it off.  Can be used for any occasion.

May flowers

For this weeks May flowers challenge, I layered my card. The card stock is white. The base layer is a light brownish tan. I then embossed in black, one of my favorite stamps from Northwoods. This was also my 1st attempt at watercoloring ...I'm hooked!   Using my Tombow markers and a little water and paintbrush, those flowers just started coming to life on the water color paper.  I popped it off the card with a little foam in each corner before putting it on the card. I finished the card with a little string and a little bling.

Thinking of you 2

This card is a multi layered card and my 1st attempt at one like this. I really like how it turned out and will make more! I started with a cream textured base, went with somewhat neutral colors. I used some layered cardboard stickers that I found in my stash that added just the embellishment to finish it off. The inside verse is "you're in my thoughts and prayers"

Thinking of you...

This is my 1st ever attempt at a challenge!  I'm so excited!
I chose a card that I recently finished to send a friend. The cardstock is cream. I then sponged a little light blue for the sky and a bit of tan to create a ground effect. I chose 1 of my favorite Northwood stamps and used my Tombow markers to make it all come to life. I left the inside blank so it could be used for any occasion.
