Love you bunches
For this challenge I started with brown card stock and I cut it in half lengthwise to make a tall card then on a piece of light brown paper I took my happy valentine stamp and stamp it all over on the paper with a brown ink kind of randomly and not all at the same depth of color, meaning that I let my stamp run dry before I enter it again. Then I cut a piece of that to fit just inside of the brown paper that I started with. Then I took two different sized hearts and my Zacto knife and I cut the larger heart out of the lighter paper that I had stamped on., And a little smaller heart out of the dk brown cardstock. On the inside of the card I layered a piece of cream colored paper and stamped my sentiment "love you bunches" on that so it was visible from the front of the card. I finished my card off with two little felt hearts, a brown button and some cream colored store string. I staggered the hearts together laid the brown button on top and pulled the store strength through all layers creating a bow in the front. This is a card technique that I have not used before so I really need some practice using my zacto knife!!! But I am happy with the end results.

I love to see stamped backgrounds instead of pattern paper sometimes! This looks great!! Thanks for playing along with us at PIP Challenges!
ReplyDeletehugs!
My family won't let me use an exacto knife - tend to miss the mark too often :}. Happy you are allowed because your card turned out great. The off-stamping on your paper really looks like store bought designer paper and love how you tied all the layers together with your string. What I really think is neat is letting your inside sentiment also be your outside sentiment. Clever! Tickled you shared with us on the PIP challenge blog this week. Can't wait to see what you do next.
ReplyDeleteAll over stamped sentiments look great as your card clearly shows, Pam. I'm glad you shared this with us at Just Us Girls.
ReplyDeleteI heart you bunches!! These are perfect colors for either a guy or girl card.....but I think I like it more for a guy card! You did a great job with the exacto knife....I'm not quite that brave with mine! Thank you for sharing your card at PIP Challenge this week....always look forward to seeing your work!!
